The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Generic BSN) is a 4-year degree program available after completing F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) or an equivalent qualification. There shall be no stipend for the enrolled students of BSN Generic (Morning and Evening Batch).
Policies
Students are required to fulfill their study credit hours and clinical practice hours as notified by the University of Health Sciences / Specialized Health Care & Medical Education Department. The fulfillment of requisite attendance in clinical duties along with classes is mandatory in each subject from the student side.
100% of study attendance is desired to be ensured by each student and also comply with the UHS mandatory requirements to appear in the exam.
Total number of permissible leaves are 30 days per annum.
All sorts of leaves i.e. medical leave, maternity leave, ex-Pakistan leave etc. will come under the ambit of these permissible 30 leaves during each year of the program.
The mid-term examination shall be held in the 9th week of the semester.
The schedule / date sheet of the mid-term examination shall be notified by the Directorate of Student Affairs of the respective institution, two weeks before the commencement of the examination, in accordance with the notified academic calendar.
The candidate shall be required to attempt all the questions given in mid-term examination. There shall be no choice.
Mid-Term Examination shall comprise of only Theory Examination.
The students having minimum of 50% marks in internal assessment of each course will be eligible to appear in final examination.
The students having minimum of 85% attendance per course will be eligible to appear in final examination.
The application for admission to the final examination shall be submitted online.
Hard copy of the application duly attested by the Head / Principal of the respective department / institution along with the evidence for payment of the prescribed fee voucher shall be submitted to the Examinations Department, UHS.
The schedule / date sheet of final examination shall be notified by the UHS Examination Department in accordance with the notified Academic Calendar as approved by the relevant Board of Studies (BOS).
The Examination Department of the University shall hold the final examination.
The final examination of semester shall consist of Theory and Practical Examinations of subject as per the curriculum.

Attendance and Punctuality: Regular attendance and punctuality are expected. Unauthorized absences or tardiness may lead to disciplinary action.
Academic Integrity: Plagiarism, cheating, and academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. Consequences may include failing a course or expulsion.
Respect for Others: Students are expected to treat faculty, staff, and peers with respect. Harassment, bullying, or discrimination will not be tolerated.
Classroom Behavior: Students are expected to behave professionally and respectfully in class. Disruptions, phone use, or other distracting behavior may lead to removal from class.
Dress Code: Students are expected to dress modestly and professionally, adhering to the institution's dress code policy.
Use of Facilities: Students are expected to use institution facilities responsibly and respectfully. Damage or misuse of property may result in disciplinary action.
Technology Use: Students are expected to use institution technology responsibly and for academic purposes only. Unauthorized use may lead to disciplinary action.
Regulations
Admissions will be made once in a year.
Advertisement will be given by University of Health Sciences (UHS) in at least two leading national newspapers (one Urdu and one English) after getting approval from the SHC & ME Department.
The admission process shall be conducted through an on-line portal. The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore shall charge a fee of Rs. 500/- from each candidate applying for admission to all public colleges of nursing in Punjab. No manual application submitted in any college / university or SHC & ME department shall be acceptable.
Admissions will be made purely on merit-cum-preference basis as per eligibility criteria according to the Government Policy through centralized / online system.
Submitted applications shall be scrutinized by the scrutiny committee constituted by the admitting University of Health Sciences (UHS).
No candidate shall claim his / her right of applying, if he / she shall not follow timeline of whole induction process.
UHS shall constitute the Grievance Committee to address the grievance of the candidates.
Only completely submitted applications with all requisite documents and deposited fee after generating voucher shall be entertained.
Applications of candidates having any false / fabricated / fake / misrepresented information / documents shall be rejected at any stage and disciplinary proceeding shall be initiated against the concerned applicant.
Students applying for admission shall provide an order of preference for all public colleges of nursing. The applicant has to select all colleges in the desired order of preference. The application shall be edited until the closing date of admission; however, the number of preferences and their order cannot be changed after the last date for submission of the online application. Any college not included in the preference list shall not be considered for the grant of admission.
Admission shall only remain secured if the candidate shall follow the timelines of admission process. If a candidate, after her / his selection on merit, fails to give online consent and deposit admission fee (Rs. 15,000) within the stipulated time period, her name will be struck off from the admission process and the resultant vacant seat will be offered to the candidate who falls next on merit.
Candidates shall mark their Joining and give Consent for Up-gradation or Stay on the online portal of UHS. In the online Consent Form, candidates are required to indicate their choice from the following options:
Retain their allocated seat in the same college, OR
Opt for up-gradation as per merit and order of preference in the subsequent selection list.
The consent once given shall be considered final and no retrospective change shall be entertained.
The deposited fee by the student in the bank account of UHS, Lahore will be further disbursed to the respective college immediately after completion of admissions process in designated bank accounts of concerned colleges of nursing by the UHS, Lahore.
Final list of selected candidates shall be issued by UHS. Admission offer letters shall be issued by the principal of respective college based on the final selection list notified by UHS.
Student shall provide generated admission form of online portal at the time of joining and same documents shall be provided in concerned college as uploaded on portal at the time of applying for admission. Any manipulation / misrepresentation in documents shall lead to cancellation of admission and student shall be debarred for a period of three years.
Selected candidates will submit Surety Bond and original academic documents (till completion of training), before receiving of the offer letter for admission from the respective college.
After joining of the students at their place of induction, period of three months shall be observed as probation period.
A test shall be conducted in colleges on completion of probation period.
Admission of students shall be confirmed by the principal subject to the following:
Successful completion of probation period having satisfactory performance, good conduct and fulfilling required attendance.
Verification of original documents (CNIC, domicile, educational documents) from concerned issuing authorities.
IBCC verification.
Successful registration by the affiliating University.
Students who fail to provide IBCC verified documents or any other above requisite, their admission shall be cancelled and shall be debarred for a period of three (03) years.
If any misrepresentation, false / fake / fabricated information, policy violation or attempt to obtain admission by unfair means is detected at any stage of study, immediate termination / cancellation of admission shall be made and disciplinary proceeding shall be initiated.

All admissions shall be made strictly & purely on merit-cum-preference basis through the centralized online admission system as implemented in accordance with approved Admission Policy of the Government of the Punjab SHC&ME Department. The Department shall have the right to determine the admission calendar each year.
Improved marks shall not be considered once student is admitted.
During class and ward training (lectures-based and clinical) in colleges, all nursing students shall observe proper uniform. The Nursing Instructor concerned shall personally accompany the class / batch during the hands-on training in the wards and shall not leave till the end of training session. The Nursing Instructor shall be responsible to guide students in tasks and skills. Each Nursing Instructor shall write and maintain proforma of each nursing student showing attendance, performance and progress. Implementation of such discipline and maintenance of the record thereof shall be the responsibility of concerned Principal, College of Nursing.
The Admitting Institution / CON will be bound to provide yearly report to the affiliating university and admitting university / UHS regarding status of admitted students as well as details of promoted / rusticated / absent / re-admitted or disciplinary proceeded students.
This policy shall come into effect with immediate effect.
Hostel Rules
The college provides on-campus hostel accommodation for students on a first-come, first-served basis subject to availability. Residents are expected to comply with the following general rules and regulations:
Admission & Allotment
Hostel admission is granted for one academic year and is subject to renewal each year.
Allotment is made on merit and on the basis of distance from the home town.
Residents must submit an undertaking from parent / guardian at the time of admission.
Discipline & Conduct
Hostel timings: Entry by 8:00 PM (subject to seasonal change). Late entries require written permission from the Hostel Warden.
Residents must maintain discipline, cleanliness and respectful behaviour at all times.
No outside guests are permitted to stay overnight without prior approval.
Possession or use of any kind of intoxicant, weapon or prohibited item is strictly forbidden.
Visitors & Leave
Visitors are received only in the designated visiting area during permitted hours.
Leave from hostel must be recorded in the movement register and signed by the Warden.
Going home / out-station visits require written consent from parent / guardian.
